Ancient Japan Inventions

The Japanese have been responsible for many inventions throughout history but some of the ancient Japan inventions are really worth taking a look at. When most people think about Japanese inventions, they consider some of the more modern day things that have been thought of. If this is as far as they look, however, they are missing out on some very interesting history, some of which has helped to shape the world that we live in today.

One of the more noteworthy of the ancient Japan inventions includes that of pottery. Although pottery had been used in many areas throughout the world, almost since the dawn of time, the Japanese had been using it from the start. Much of the pottery that was produced by Japan, thousands of years ago, was made of ceramic, something that the Japanese obviously developed. These things were shaped out of clay and then fired in an oven in order to preserve them. As a matter of fact, many of these figurines and artifacts have been preserved for thousands of years, almost as though they had been made just recently.

Many of the ancient Japan inventions were not really Japanese inventions at all. As a matter of fact, most of them were introduced into the area of Japan from nearby China. The Chinese were very interested in inventing new things, particularly when it came to taking care of one's health. They also had an unusual interest with trying to prolong their life to the point where they received immortality. Many of these inventions filtered off of the mainland and ended up coming to Japan throughout the centuries. The Japanese did expound on some of these ideas but they really have their roots in the ancient Chinese culture.

Unfortunately, modern-day Japan has a reputation for coming up with some rather useless inventions along the way. It is not difficult to find lists of these inventions, some of which really make you wonder what they were thinking. Regardless of that fact, Japan does have something to offer to us in the way of history and many of the Japan inventions, including that of ceramic pottery continue to be used today.
